sundays

A place to check-in, be real and share the highs and lows of student life together.

Every Sunday at 1pm we gather together for a free community meal, and chances to relax, work or chat. We love students and want to build a community for students to feel safe & loved, with spaces to explore big questions of life, and have food together. Got questions? Let us know by connecting with us.

when & where do you meet?

We meet from 1pm every Sunday, at St Augustine’s Church Hall. We’re right on the corner of Hyde Park - you can find us next to Woodhouse Moor, right beside the One Stop, and opposite Hyde Park Pub. Look out for our big orange flags!

We’re also working on gathering together mid-week - watch this space for more details.

what should I expect?

Our Sunday gatherings are incredibly informal and laid-back! We share a meal together and chat, and then you are welcome to stay in the building to chat with the team, study or work, relax & craft, etc, or you’re welcome to go if you need to!

is the building wheelchair accessible?

Yes, we’re currently meeting in the hall next to the church, which is wheelchair accessible, including with an accessible toilet. The church also has accessible areas, although not all parts of the church are accessible - we’re in the process of refurbishing our building so that it becomes 100% accessible for all.

what should I do before coming?

If you’re interested in coming along, feel free to just turn up, or message us on Instagram or Facebook to say hi to one of us before coming.

can I come even if I don’t believe in God?

Absolutely! hpc is for everyone, no matter what you believe. We don’t talk about religious stuff during the meal part of our gathering (unless asked!), so if you don’t want to chat about it you don’t have to.

can I volunteer to help?

We love celebrating people’s gifts, whether it’s music, hospitality, cooking, etc. If you fancy playing piano, helping prepare the food or welcoming people as they come in, just send us a message and we’ll get you involved.
